JCT Minor Works Contract

The Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) contracts are the standard suite of contracts for construction works in the UK and offer the security of tried and tested contract wording developed and updated over years of use.

If the work is simple in nature and the employer provides drawings or specification, the most appropriate contract is the JCT Minor Works Building Contract 2016. These projects are usually valued at less than £250,000.

In addition to the obligations of the subcontractor to complete the works, both parties have obligations relating to time and money and variations, and when necessary, termination and dispute resolution.

Please note: JCT contracts are being updated progressively during 2024. This section will be updated in due course to reflect the new versions.
