Party walls disputes
Under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 a building owner must serve the requisite notice before commencing certain types of work.
The most common dispute arises where a building owner commences building works without attempting to serve the required notice.
The point at which a party wall dispute arises will usually determine the legal nature of the dispute and the appropriate route of redress for the dissatisfied party.
