AI, data and technology
This section gives an overview of the recent technological developments across the built and natural environment, and implications for developers, designers, constructors, owners, operators and occupiers of real estate, property and infrastructure.
All areas of the built environment have some form of technological tools, but these have not made fundamental changes to established processes. However, recent developments in the availability of data, more sophisticated software and pervasive internet access bring the prospect of widespread disruption.
This section summarises the impact of technology in the construction, management and valuation of property and briefly discusses some of the limiting factors or challenges RICS members may encounter.
This section is maintained by Andrew Knight, Global AI, Data and Tech Lead at RICS.
