Change control and change management

When a project starts, it is critically important that robust change control and change management processes are in place. This section examines the importance of these and the risks of not having them in place.

First, it outlines successful change control systems and the procedures to implement them. It then focuses on change control in NEC projects, and includes practical examples of:

  • a change event schedule and
  • a target cost contract final account calculation.

Resilient processes and the right people in the right roles delivering them underpin successful contracts. Change control and management is therefore a key ingredient for successful contracts and successful projects.
