Short-term letting in London

Until recently there has been a blanket restriction on short-term letting in London. Under section 25 of the Greater London Council (General Powers) Act 1973, renting out a property in Greater London for fewer than 90 consecutive nights was a material change of use.
Section 25 states:
‘(a) “use as temporary sleeping accommodation”...
