Policy tests for planning conditions

This document is only available with a paid isurv subscription.

The power to impose a planning condition is wide, but not unlimited. Planning policy guidance in relation to planning conditions is set out in the National Planning Policy Framework, which says that planning conditions can only be used where they are:

  • necessary
  • relevant to planning
  • relevant to the development permitted
  • enforceable
  • precise and
  • reasonable in all other respects.
