- Summary
-
A rent collector employed by the landlord was given notice to quit by the tenant. The tenant then gave the key to a person who looked after the landlord's empty houses. The court held that notice to a mere collector of rents was not sufficient. Neither was there any surrender by operation of law, as the housekeeper had no authority to receive the key.
