This flueless gas fire has been installed in the former fireplace opening of this older cottage. You can just see the small gas pipe running around the edge of the recess. Although I do not want to sound overly dramatic, the only thing preventing the occupants from suffocating is a catalytic convertor and an oxygen depletion device (as long as they work properly). Almost as important as the visual inspection of the appliance is checking for a CO2 monitor and recommending the installation of one if not found. |
