Rising damp? The staining at the base of this wall has superficial characteristics of rising dampness but is actually due to raised flowerbeds abutting the front elevation solid bay wall, allowing direct penetration through the wall above the dpc. Additional water penetration is occurring around the bottom rail of the rotting external timber vertical sliding sash windows.
