- Summary
-
A lessee of a petrol station was granted the right in his lease 'to use the flank walls of [adjoining premises] for advertising purposes'. The Court rejected an attempt to prevent the lessee permitting a third party to use the walls for advertising. The plaintiff argued that this was an easement that could not be assigned separately from the petrol station, but the Court held that the right of advertising was not connected with the petrol station and was therefore a licence not an easement.
