Biography

Matt Harrison BSc, TechIOSH, IMaPS, SIIRSM, ICIOB is a project professional, specialising in CDM Regulations.

Matt graduated as a QS from Anglia Polytechnic University in 1994 and spent 16 years as a QS before specialising in the establishment of pre-construction health and safety procedures with Ove Arup and Partners. With Arup, Matt worked as CDM Coordinator on some of the largest commercial building in London including the Heron Tower and Cannon Place Developments. He also worked on a significant number of bridges for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Matt was seconded onto the working party for the CIRIA publications CDM 2007 – Construction work sector guidance for designers and CDM 2007 Workplace 'in use' guidance for designers, providing the industrial case study for the latter.

Matt has established CDM compliance procedures for a number of organisations, some of which are now in use on a global basis.

Matt has been a member of the London regional committee for the Association for Project Safety for several years as treasurer and is now serving as Vice Chairman.

Company biography

Having built a long track record with a number of industrial clients over a 20-year period Matt established MHPSS Ltd in 2011. He now works with some of the largest food manufacturing companies in the UK providing pre and post contract services for both health and safety and project procurement.

In addition to providing project services, the company also provides CDM training to clients and contractors within the UK.
