Biography

James Basham FRICS, formerly of Skanska Construction UK Ltd, has been involved in the construction industry for over 50 years and in many types of work, including civil engineering, building (new build) and specialist finishing trades. He began as a trainee quantity surveyor and has experience as a senior commercial manager of all aspects of quantity surveying and management functions for a building and civil engineering contractor.

Since the late 1980s James was involved in all commercial, contractual and management aspects on major PFI projects in the UK and internationally at both SPV and construction contractor levels.  The PFI projects include major bridges, motorways, prisons, hospitals and schools including those under the 'Building Schools for the Future' programme.
